The all-new Davis Mega Farm Festival

It's really rewarding to have been working with a client for 23 years helping them to grow their business every year.

We started working with the Davises when Larry and Doug were operating a small petting zoo on their family's dairy farm. They retained us to see if it could be turned into a significant business. We conducted a market feasibility study, including guest surveys that showed adequate demand for a major facility. We then worked with the Davises to develop a master design plan and design for development of a "children's discovery farm" with a mix of attractions targeted to families with toddlers to eight year-olds. The new facility was built across the road and named Davis Farmland. Every year since, the facility has grown with added attractions and expanded food and beverage offerings.

Then, in 1998 at the site of the former petting zoo, the Davises opened one of the country's first corn mazes, Davis Mega Maze that had a design of two Celtic dragons. The Mega Maze agritainment venue has been expanded every year with more and more activities and food.

Meanwhile, more and more competitive corn mazes opened in the surrounding area. So this year, we worked with the Davises to change the venue's positioning and brand identity from the typical agritainment corn maze venue to the Davis Mega Farm Festival that includes local craft beers, six different award wining Kansas City style barbeque meat selections, and live music. Of course, there are still the fall classics such as kettle corn, apple cider, glazed donuts and fried dough.

In several weeks, Randy, our CEO, will be visiting Davis Farmland and Davis Mega Farm Festival to evaluate both and work with Doug, Larry and their father, John, to plan for next year's business growth.
