We created this infographic to show how average household spending for local out-of-home entertainment (not on trips) changed over this century's first decade. A greater share of spending has shifted to the highest income households as the lower income households have cut back on spending while the highest income households increased their spending. Households with $92,000+ incomes are 20% of all households (top quintile) yet accounted for 47% of all community-based out-of-home entertainment spending in 2010.
