Curling heads south

Shut people at home for a while, and it's inevitable they will eventually want to come out to play. That's what seems to be fueling a post-pandemic boom in eatertainment concepts, resulting in a growing array of eating-and-drinking venues with a heavy emphasis on social games. Some call it a result of the experience economy where people prefer to spend their money on experiences rather than stuff.

Eatertainment's success is also attributable to the versatility the venues offer for various occasions. Whether it's a casual night out with friends, a family gathering, or a corporate event, these establishments provide an inclusive and entertaining atmosphere.

There are longtime favorite activities, like bowling, darts, floor shuffleboard, mini golf, and bocce. Some of the expanding eatertainment concepts include Dave & Buster's, Top Golf, Main Event, Puttshack, Puttery, Flight Club, Pinstripes, Chicken N Pickle, Bowlero, Spin, and Electric Shuffle.

But this new wave of eatertainment is also bringing new games to the table, such as cricket, which we recently reported on (www.whitehutchinson.com/ news/ lenews/ 2023/ may/ article103.shtml) , and now curling.

Now, we have curling being incorporated into a public eatertainment venue at Tee Line (www.teelinenash.com) in Nashville that also includes bowling along with the food and drink.
