Going Through the New NAEYC Accreditation Process?

The new NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) accreditation criteria include a much needed section on Environmental Health. Standard 9.D.08 states that early childhood programs should use Integrated Pest Management to control pests in facilities. Also, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has prepared a resource, "Reducing Pesticide Exposure in Schools." (www.cdc.gov/ niosh/ docs/ 2007-150/ ) This resource guide explains Integrated Pest Management in detail and provides further resources for study.
