Berlin Study Tour to Look at European Outdoor Design

European outdoor designers have taken the lead in creating naturalized outdoor environments, from adventure playgrounds to pocket parks to unique playscapes. A slideshow of their inspiring efforts is available online.

Last year our CEO, Randy White, attended the Berlin Study trip with landscape architect Frode Svane from Children's Landscape in Oslo, Norway (www.barnas-landskap.org (www.barnas-landskap.org/ ) ). Randy highly recommends this tour if you are looking for inspiration in how to create outdoor environments that are more naturalized.

This year the group will be touring adventure playgrounds, pocket parks and playgrounds of Berlin. The study tour June 6-8, 2007, includes interviews with designers and public artists. Frode tells me 12 Scottish landscape architects have already indicated they will attend. This group created the exhibition to illustrate some of the many imaginative ways of creating play environments. The site includes preschools, schools, playgrounds and public space.
