Vicki
Stoecklin, our Education & Child Development Director, presented a session
at the National Association for the Education of Young Children Annual Conference
held in New York. The session on designing play gardens for young children
was well received. Vicki said that in comparing this year's conference with
previous years', it was encouraging to see a larger number of presentations
on the design of childcare centers and outdoor play areas. She says we need
to continue to offer training to early childhood practitioners on high quality
design. However, she found it disheartening to see some presenters use examples
of spaces that were poorly designed or did not meet safety standards.
Would you like to host a childcare design workshop in your area? Vicki is available to discuss your training options; just give her a call at +1.816.931-1040 or e-mail (www.whitehutchinson.com/ contact/ vicki_stoecklin/ ) her.
