BABY WALKERS IN NAME ONLY

Researchers in Ireland have found evidence that babies who had used walkers--wheeled devices that allow children to walk around upright--walked, stood unsupported and even crawled later than babies who did not use walkers. The study followed the development of 109 children. The authors said, "We found strong associations between the amount of baby walker use and the extent of developmental delay." (British Medical Journal)
