The Brits now hold the world record for the largest pumpkin

Brandon Dawson, a California engineer and gardening enthusiast, won top prize this year at the 52nd World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Half Moon Bay, California. He grew a giant jack-o'-lantern pumpkin weighing 2,346 pounds and won a $20,000 prize for growing the biggest pumpkin.

Travis Gienger, of Anoka, Minnesota, set a world record (www.whitehutchinson.com/ news/ lenews/ 2022/ october/ article101.shtml) at the California contest in 2022 for the heaviest pumpkin when his giant jack-o'-lantern gourd weighed 2,749 pounds.

This year, twin brothers Ian and Stuart Paton in Hampshire, England, broke Gienger's world record for the world's largest and heaviest pumpkin, weighing 2,819 pounds and measuring over 21 feet in circumference.
