Who Goes to Entertainment Venues with Children & Which are Tons of Fun?

A survey conducted in the summer of 2002 by KidzEyes, C&R Research Services, Inc.'s online research panel of 10,000 6-14 year old children, found that the older the child, the less likely they are to visit entertainment facilities with their moms or grandparents. For 6-8 year olds, 75% visited entertainment venues such as miniature golf, arcades, amusement parks and water parks with their moms, whereas only 51% of 12-14 year olds did. 15% of 6-8's visited with their grandparents. That percentage dropped in half to 8% for 12-14's.

Amusement parks where rated as the most fun. 65% of children rated amusement parks as 'tons of fun.' 62% rated water parks as tons of fun and 58% rated Chuck E. Cheese's as tons of fun. Chuck E. Cheese's had a higher fun rating than beaches, carnivals, arcades, zoos and miniature golf, which had the lowest fun rating of 25%.
