Recent Projects
Spartanburg Regional Health Care System, New Child Development Center,
Spartanburg, South Carolina
We have started work on the schematic floor layout, start-up budgets
and operating budgets for a proposed new child development center that will
be in collaboration with a local employer. The center will house over 250
children ages 3 months to school-age.
WCAA Head Start, Hendersonville, North Carolina
A day-long design charrette is being held with Head Start staff
and Ken Gaylord Architects to create a new site for a multi-age Head Start
program. Work will then begin on the schematic floor layout.
Operation Breakthrough, Kansas City, Missouri
Work continues on creating the design and construction documents
for six outdoor play spaces to be included in a new building for this inner-city,
comprehensive family development center. The center currently serves around
three hundred children and will be expanding capacity to almost five hundred.
Funds are being raised for the new building and the new outdoor play yards.
The outdoor playgrounds presented unique challenges as three of the six yards
are roof top gardens where surface mounting for play structures and locations
for plantings created unique design challenges.
