{"id":300,"date":"2012-08-28T10:41:11","date_gmt":"2012-08-28T15:41:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whitehutchinson.com\/blog\/?p=300"},"modified":"2012-08-28T12:18:22","modified_gmt":"2012-08-28T17:18:22","slug":"youth-bowling-participation-declines-less-than-for-adults","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.whitehutchinson.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/youth-bowling-participation-declines-less-than-for-adults\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth bowling participation declines less than for adults"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In our company\u2019s July <em>Leisure eNewsletter<\/em>, our article <a title=\"Bowling trends; the bad and good news\" href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehutchinson.com\/news\/lenews\/2012_july\/article102.shtml#article\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Bowling trends; the bad and good news<\/em><\/a> examined the declining participation in bowling since pre-recession 2007. <em><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I decided to take a look at the 10-year trend for children and youth bowling versus adult bowling to see what that looked like. So I examined bowling changes to participation between 2001 and 2011 for ages 7-11, for ages 12-17 and for adults who had bowled more than once during those years. It ends up adult participation has declined far more than for youth. Both youth age groups currently have more than twice the bowling participation rate of adults.
