Upcoming Presentations

Vicki Stoecklin, Education & Child Development Director, will be partnering with Tina Sanooke, Head Start Director of the Eastern Band of Cherokee, to present a training session on designing play gardens for young children at the Annual American Indian and Alaska Native Child Care Conference to take place September 23-25, 2004, in Washington, D.C. Tina's program has just completed renovating outdoor spaces using nature as part of the play element. It is so exciting to be able to team with her in doing this presentation.

The conference coincides with the opening of the National Museum of the American Indian. I can't tell you how excited and honored I am to be part of this conference. It has been one of my goals in life to learn more about Native American and Alaska Native culture, so now it is an exciting time for me! Our presentation will be given on Saturday, September 25, 2005
